Madame Tussauds

Please be aware of government guidelines before setting off.

Government Guidelines
  • Get ready to be starstruck as you get up close and personal with more than 250 lifelike wax figures at the walk-through attraction Madame Tussauds London.
  • Join the Royal Family and step onto the royal balcony to give a wave and rub shoulders with the A-list celebrities as you walk down the red carpet at this brilliant Baker Street venue.
  • Hop into one of London’s iconic black cabs for the Spirit of London ride. You’ll get taken on a brilliant and exciting journey through the capital’s history.

Madame Tussauds definitely has the wax factor and is one of London’s favourite tourist attractions! Since it opened 200 years ago, it has had millions of visitors. It is the perfect opportunity to see a lifelike wax figure of Her Majesty the Queen and other members of the Royal Family and find out what they look like up close! Strike a pose with some of the A-list celebs in the Madame Tussauds celebrity wax museum, which features stars from cinema, sports, music and other areas, including Beyoncé, The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe and Justin Bieber. Or face off with the 6-foot-6 Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua.

If you are a family of Star Wars fans, you will love the unique, immersive Star Wars experience starring extraordinarily lifelike wax figures of the favourite heroes and villains of Star Wars Episodes I-VI. You will finally get to rub shoulders with Yoda, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. Or immerse yourselves in the attraction’s Marvel area and join Captain Marvel, Spider Man and Iron Man in a crime-fighting adventure in the 4D cinema.

And seeing as you are visiting Baker Street, don’t miss the wonderful Sherlock Holmes Experience. The detective is brought to life in an original, new, theatrical walkthrough adventure. You and your kids will be transported back to lamp-lit Victorian streets, the dark moors and Holmes’ very own drawing room in this awesome experience.

Founded by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud in 1835, it’s simply one of the best museums in London. Book your Madame Tussauds tickets here today!

What to know before you go

  • Children aged 16 years and over can enter the attraction unaccompanied by an adult.
  • Kids aged under 3 will not be charged a ticket for entry into the venue.
  • Madame Tussauds London is suitable for all ages. However, some of the attractions have either height restrictions or age recommendations. The Spirit of London ride has a height restriction of 0.9m. If you are under this height, you must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 8 may find the Sherlock Holmes Experience scary. The Alien: Escape experience is recommended for kids aged 15 and above.
  • The entrance to Sherlock Holmes Theatrical experience is not included in general entry tickets. Please be aware that this experience is an additional cost.
  • It takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to walk around the attraction.
  • During peak periods, such as weekends and school holidays, it is likely that there will be queues to enter the attraction. It’s difficult to say how long you'll spend queueing as this can change every day. The quieter times of day are usually either at first admission or later in the day towards last entry
  • Feeling peckish? Head to Bill’s Baker Street for some food. They have a great children's menu and it’s a five-minute walk away. Alternatively, there are a number of food and drink stands within the attraction.
  • The attraction typically opens every day at 9am, with last admission at 4pm. Madame Tussauds London closes approximately 90 minutes after last admission. The attraction is closed on Christmas Day and there is a late opening at 10am on weekdays in September, November and December. There are extended opening hours during school holidays from 9am until 6pm and earlier closing at 3pm on weekdays in January and February.
  • There are baby-changing facilities on site.
  • Buggies aren't permitted within Madame Tussauds London and will need to be stored within the cloakroom facility at door number 6 free of charge.
  • There is disabled access. The staff will ensure that guests with disabilities are transported safely from floor to floor within the building by means of a lift specially designated for this purpose.

Getting there

  • Madame Tussauds is just a two-minute walk from Baker Street Tube station, which is on the Bakerloo, Circle, Jubilee, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines, making it an easy journey from anywhere on the central London tube network.
  • By train, Marylebone Station is within ten minutes' walking distance of Madame Tussauds.
  • Bus routes 13, 18, 27, 30, 74, 82, 113, 139, 189, 205, 274 and 453 all stop near Madame Tussauds.
  • If you are travelling to Madame Tussauds from London Waterloo, the quickest and most direct way would be to take the Jubilee line on the Tube from Waterloo to Baker Street station.
  • Looking for more fun after your visit? Why not visit some of London’s other major attractions. The London Eye and Sea Life London Aquarium are a short Underground journey from Baker Street to Westminster Station on the Jubilee line. The London Eye, Sea life and Madame Tussauds make the perfect combination for an action-packed day out!
