Learn about Vincent Van Gogh and his art at this incredible exhibition in York. You'll be surrounded by 360-degree projections and immersed in an atmospheric sound and light show that bring Van Gogh's work to life like you've never seen it before.

What to know before you go

  • Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
  • The email confirmation you receive is your ticket and will give you access to the exhibition. 
  • Children under the age of 3 are admitted for free.
  • You can book a disabled access ticket directly through the exhibition staff. Carers will be issued a ticket free of charge.
  • Please be on time for your specific time slot. You may be admitted 15 minutes before or after this time slot depending on how busy it is.  
  • Your visit to the exhibition will take approximately one hour. 
  • The experience is fully accessible for wheelchairs.
  • There are toilets available on site, just before the shop and exit. A disabled access toilet is also available. 
  • Unfortunately, there is no cloakroom to leave bags and coats so travel light.
  • During busy periods, buggies may not be allowed in the exhibition. If this is the case, they can be left in a designated area near the box office. 
  • You won’t find yourself hungry in York for long with its rich variety of restaurants. Nearby The Masons Arms has a great kids’ menu.
  • Why not make a day of it and explore some other museums and art galleries in York too - it’s the perfect activity to do come rain or shine. The Burton Gallery features Italian, Dutch and Flemish Old Master paintings, as well as contemporary artworks. There are also opportunities for visitors to draw, learn and share. If your kids love Vikings, the exhibition is next door to the Jorvik Viking Centre.

Getting there

  • The exhibition takes place at St Mary’s Church in York. It’s located by the Coppergate Shopping Centre, next to the Jorvik Centre. 
  • York is on the East Coast main line between London and Scotland. It takes less than two hours to get to York from London. The exhibition is a 10-minute walk from York train station and a five-minute walk from York Minster.
  • If you are driving, the nearest car park is the Castle Car Park, just a five-minute walk away (for sat nav users, castle car park postcode: YO1 9SA).
