A 24-hour hop-on, hop-off bus ticket is the perfect way to explore the vibrant city. With 11 strategically-situated bus stops, enjoy unlimited hop-on hop-off for 24 hours and see some of the city’s highlights, including the idyllic Alexandra Gardens, the remarkable Cardiff Castle, the Norwegian Church Arts Centre and the National Museum of Wales, which has a brilliant programme of events and exhibitions.

Make sure you visit bus stop 5, the vibrant waterfront of Cardiff Bay where you can enjoy stunning views over the freshwater lake and take a stroll to the Barrage embankment. If you want to stop somewhere for lunch, hop off at bus stop 6 for Mermaid Quay where there’s a great choice of restaurants and cafés. And one for little sports enthusiasts, the Principality Stadium is the final stop before you loop back around to Cardiff Castle.

What to know before you go

  • Your bus tour ticket includes a 24-hour unlimited open-top hop-on, hop-off bus tour access, live commentary in English, an audio guide available in seven different languages (English, Welsh, Spanish, German, French,Italian and Polish) on Cardiff’s history, traditions and culture, a 10% discount for your next City Sightseeing tour at another destination and a deals and discount booklet for museums and restaurants.
  • This is a flexible three-month ticket.
  • It’s possible to spend as much time as you’d like at each stop on the full loop tours.
  • The red bus tour operates all year round. There are no services on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.
  • The first tour starts at 10am and the final tour of the day is 3.30pm.
  • Buses run every 20 minutes.
  • A full loop of the City Sightseeing bus tour takes 55 minutes.
  • Once your booking is complete, you will be sent an e-voucher by email. Please print it out and take it to any of the tour pick up points.
  • Infants aged up to four years of age go for free. There are reduced rates for children aged 5 - 15. Concession priced tickets for seniors aged over 60 years of age are available, as well as family tickets for two adults and three children.
  • No refunds or exchanges are available after booking.

Getting there

  • It’s possible to join the Hop-On, Hop-Off Cardiff Bus Tour on any of the 11 route pick-up points.
  • The first stop on the loop is Cardiff Castle. If you embark here Cardiff Central railway station is an 11-minute walk away. St Mary Street at stop 10 is just a three-minute walk away from the station.
  • Buses routes to central Cardiff include the 4, 6, 8,9 8S, 9C, 11,21, 23, 24 and 25.
  • There are direct buses from London Victoria to Cardiff Coach station in Sophia Gardens.
  • There are several NCP car parks in Cardiff city centre, including Cardiff Central (CF10 1LA), Cardiff Westgate (CF10 1DZ) and Cardiff Rapports (CF10 2EH).
