What to expect

A great way to make learning fun, MC Grammar is teaching kids English grammar online through rap music. Join Mc Grammar and the rest of the Grammar Gang for his live free sessions every Tuesday and Thursday.

Rap music is a valuable asset when it comes to the classroom. From an early age we learn through songs that we love and they become a fundamental learning block in a child’s education. Integrating rap music into education is the most exciting new way to translate punctuation, vocabulary and tenses from textbooks to memory.

Aimed at children aged 6-11, primary school teacher Jacob Mitchell, also known as MC Grammar, is educating kids through live rapping videos about the English language. Could learning English be any more fun? In each fresh and fun home-schooling lesson, MC grammar will focus on a different topic. From apostrophes to inverted commas, coordinating conjunctions to adverbs, MC Grammar will use rap, rhyme and a host of fun exercises to help your kids learn.

He will start off the class rapping and rhyming over fresh beats and melodies about the chosen topic and then move onto looking at sentence examples, a short story, and the Gram Slam challenge. At the end of these sessions, there won't be any need for your grammar checker! If you're looking to improve your children's writing and have fun at the same time, these songs and exercises are perfect. Kids will love rapping along to the different songs, and by the end of the lesson you will always remember how to check grammar and use it correctly! Grammar lessons don't get more awesome than this, so choose this class if you want your kids to enjoy learning (and rapping).

If you want to learn grammar at home you can visit the MC Grammar website, where you'll find all of his lessons, songs and book raps. After you've completed all the grammar exercises, if you want to improve your English skills even more, check out this spelling masterclass, or use these online educational games for KS2 kids to learn.
